Who Am I?

My name is Katie Blackburn, and I grew up in Smyrna, Tennessee. I grew up in a very musical family, so it seems only fitting that I chose a career path where I sing for a living. Only living 30 minutes from Nashville where national tours pass through allowed me to see Broadway level productions from a young age. I absolutely loved going to TPAC and seeing a show with my parents! 

In 2015, I auditioned for a show, The Music Man, with my mom and sister and I knew I had found what I truly loved to do. Years passed and during my college search, I knew there wasn’t anything else I’d be happy doing for the rest of my life and so I auditioned for BFA programs across the country. I decided to attend the University of Memphis for the next four years of my life!  

During my time here at the UofM, I have not only learned and grown so much but also made lifelong friendships. I know the people I met at college will be with me for all the hard times and all the triumphs and I couldn’t be more grateful for them!
